 Meldin  Graziani

Meldin Graziani
Intern

Meldin Graziani is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a graduate student at the University of Central Florida, pursuing an M.A. in Political Science with an emphasis on International Studies. She has a B.S. in Legal Studies from Florida Gulf Coast University.  Her research interests include the European Union and the Middle East. Graziani plans to pursue a doctoral degree in international relations. Fluent in Spanish, she has studied French and Mandarin, and traveled to Turkey, Mexico and throughout Europe.

 Nathalia  Martins

Nathalia Martins
Intern

Nathalia Martins is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. A junior at the University of Central Florida, she is majoring in Political Science – International Studies and minoring in French. She serves as Vice President of the United Nations Association at UCF. Her research interests include West European politics, the European Union, comparative politics and international law. She plans on graduate studies in international relations or law. A native of Brazil, Martins is fluent in Portuguese, has studied Spanish and French, and has traveled in South America and the Caribbean.

 Kathryn  Moody

Kathryn Moody

Kathryn Moody is a senior intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a junior at Rollins College, majoring in International Affairs. Her research interests include terrorism, transnational crime and youth radicalization.  Upon graduation, Moody plans to spend a year living and travelling in the Middle East before pursuing a master’s degree in either security studies or conflict resolution.  She is currently studying Spanish and has travelled to England, Italy and Mexico.

 Candace  Owen

Candace Owen, an intern for the Global Perspectives Office, is a graduate student at the University of Central Florida, pursuing an M.A. in Political Science with an emphasis on International Studies. She has a B.A. in Political Science – International Relations from UCF.  From 2007 to 2008, she participated in the AmeriCorps Volunteers in Service to America program. Her research interests are human rights, human trafficking, and sustainable global economic development. She plans to pursue a doctoral degree in international relations, is studying French and has traveled in Italy.

 Bonnie  Schickler

Bonnie Schickler
Intern

Bonnie Schickler is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a graduate student at the University of Central Florida, pursuing an M.A. in Political Science with an emphasis on International Studies. Schickler has a B.A. in Political Science – International Relations from UCF.  Her research interests are terrorism, the European Union, the U.S. intelligence community and U.S. Foreign Policy.  Schickler is conversational in French and has traveled to France and throughout the Caribbean.

 Sabrina  Stein

Sabrina Stein

Sabrina Stein is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. A senior at the University of Central Florida, she is majoring in Political Science – International Studies and minoring in French. She is Vice President for Conferencing for the United Nations Association. Her research interests are the role of IGOs and NGOs, and Latin American politics. She plans to pursue graduate studies in international relations or Latin American politics. Stein is fluent in Spanish and is studying French. A native of Uruguay, she has traveled throughout South America and to Spain.

 Antoinette  Bazunu

Antoinette Bazunu
Intern

Antoinette Bazunu is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is currently a graduate student at the University of Central Florida, pursuing an M.A. in English Language Arts Education.  Bazunu holds a B.S. with honors in Public Administration from UCF.  Her Honors in the Major Thesis focused on evaluating safety in District 7’s privatized child welfare services.  Bazunu is currently a mentor for Florida’s Take Stock in Children program.  Her research interests are human trafficking, education and poverty.  Upon completion of her M.A., Bazunu plans to pursue a doctorate degree in education.  She is a native of Nigeria.

 Kathleen  Coulter

Kathleen Coulter is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office.  She is currently a junior at the University of Central Florida, pursuing a double-major in Political Science - International Relations track - and Journalism - News Writing track - with a minor in French Language.   This coming summer, she plans to study at La Sorbonne in Paris.  Coulter is a member of LEAD Scholars and the Phi Sigma Pi Honor Fraternity. Upon graduation, she is considering a graduate degree in either international law or intercultural communications.  Coulter, a native of Canada, has traveled throughout Canada, Europe and China.

 Kaitlyn  Crandall

Kaitlyn Crandall is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office.  She is currently a junior at the University of Central Florida, pursuing a double-major in Political Science - International Relations track - and History, with a minor in French Language through the Burnett Honors College.   Crandall is currently a member of LEAD Scholars  and the UCF French Club.  Her research interests include conflict resolution and military history.  Upon graduation, she plans to attend graduate school and eventually work in the U.S. Foreign Service.  Crandall has studied Latin, is conversational in French and has travelled throughout the United States and Canada.

 David  Emas

David Emas
Intern

David Emas is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office.  He is currently a junior at the University of Central Florida, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Criminal Justice.  Emas is the Co-Founder and Vice President of Sababa, a Jewish organization at UCF.  He also serves as the Scholarship Chair of Lambda Chi Alpha.  His research interests include globalization and economic growth of developing countries. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue a graduate degree in law.  Emas has traveled to Israel, Turkey, Mexico, Jamaica and The Bahamas.

 Jason  Holman

Jason Holman is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. He is currently a junior at the University of Central Florida, majoring in Political Science - Pre-Law Track – with a minor in Business Administration.   His research interests include the Iraq War, Middle East conflict and constitutional law. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue a graduate degree in law.  Holman has traveled to Mexico, Bahamas and Belize.

Stacy Kowalski is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is currently a senior at UCF, pursuing a double major in Political Science/International Relations and Comparative Politics and Spanish Language and Literature, as well as a minor in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. She is a member of UCF Progressive Council and Campus Peace Action.  Her research interests include  communication and mutual understanding of nations through trade and diplomacy.  Upon graduation, Kowalski plans to attend graduate school. She is fluent in Spanish, conversational in Chinese and learning Portuguese. She has traveled to England, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Morocco, Colombia and Turkey.

David Magovern is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office.  He is currently a senior at the University of Central Florida, majoring in Political Science - International Relations Track.  McGovern is a member of Delta Epsilon Iota Honor Society and the Golden Key International Honor Society.  His research interests include human trafficking, global energy and Japanese culture. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue a graduate degree in international relations.  McGovern is studying Japanese and previously lived in Japan for three years.  He has travelled to Hong Kong, Brunei, Bali, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, South Korea and Canada.

 Danielle  Markley

Danielle Markley

Danielle Markley an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is currently a senior at the University of Central Florida, majoring in Political Science - International Relations/Comparative Politics track.  Her research interests include Russian politics, Japanese politics, terrorism and Italian history.  Upon graduation, she plans to pursue graduate degrees in international relations and Russian language.  Markley is fluent in Spanish and conversational in French.  She has traveled throughout Italy.

 Laura  Stockbridge

Laura Stockbridge is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is currently a senior at the University of Central Florida, majoring in Business Economics - International track – with a minor in Mathematics.  Stockbridge currently serves as Director of Publications for the Burnett Honors College Economics Club.  She has also received the International Business Scholarship to study abroad for a year in Tilburg, Netherlands.  Her research interests include the economic growth of developing nations; specifically those formerly part of the Soviet Union.  Upon graduation, she plans to pursue graduate degrees in international economics and development economics.  Stockbridge speaks French and has traveled to France, Netherlands, Mexico and Canada.

Melissa Barber is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office.  She is completing her senior year at Seminole High School. Barber is a member of Model United Nations, Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra, Illuminati Academic team, Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and the Latin Honor Society.  Upon graduation, Barber plans to study anthropology and music in college.  Barber speaks Spanish and has studied French, German and Latin.

Timothy Mason is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. He is currently a senior at the University of Central Florida, pursuing a double major in Political Science  - International Relations Track - and Radio Television - Broadcast Production Track - as well as a minor in emergency management and homeland security. His interests include the Iraq War, strategic arms and the Arab Israeli Conflict. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue graduate degrees in both law and international relations.

 Komal  Patel

Komal Patel is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office.  She is completing her senior year at Seminole High School. Patel is a member of the Model United Nations, Bharatanatyam (South Indian Classical Dance), Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Scoiety and the Spanish Honor Society. Upon graduation, Patel plans to study international relations and economics in college.  She has traveled to India, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Italy, Canada and throughout the Caribbean. Patel speaks Gujarati and Spanish.


 Maria  Pecoraro

Maria Pecoraro

Maria Pecoraro is an intern in the Global Perspectives Office who works primarily as a research assistant for Ambassador Ulric Haynes, Jr. a Distinguished Visiting Scholar. She graduated summa cum laude in 2008 from the University of Central Florida with a B.A. in Political Science, specializing in American politics and policy. She currently is continuing her studies and plans to start a graduate program at UCF in Political Science/International Relations in 2009. Pecoraro is a member of the Order of Pegasus. She also serves as Director of Governmental Affairs for UCF's student government and is active in several other organizations. Her research interests include the study of democracy, political theory, American presidential and congressional politics, and constitutional law.  Pecoraro speaks Spanish and has traveled to Puerto Rico.

 Norah  Perez

Norah Perez

Norah Perez is an intern at the Global Perspectives Office. A senior at Rollins College, she is majoring in Economics with a minor in International Affairs.  Perez serves as Secretary of Honor of the Rollins College Hamilton Holt Academic Honor Council, where she educates students and faculty about the importance of an Honor Code.  She is also one of the founders of the Ethics Committee, where she helped to develop the Ethics Roundtable Discussion.  She recently joined the Rollins College Investment program.  Perez spent four years in South Africa, and speaks English and Spanish, as well as some German.

 Christopher  Estoch

Christopher Estoch
Intern

Christopher Estoch is an intern at the Global Perspectives Office. He is in his third year at the University of Central Florida and is currently majoring in Political Science with an emphasis on International Relations. Estoch was recently awarded a Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship with the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. His research interests include strategic weapons, human rights and genocide. He has traveled extensively throughout North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.


 Xiaolin  Lu

Xiaolin Lu
Intern

Xiaolin Lu is an intern at the Global Perspectives Office. A graduate with honors from Rollins College , he earned a B.A. in International Affairs with a minor in Business Administration. He is also a member of Tau Sigma, the Academic Honor Society and a recipient of Outstanding College Students Award of The National Dean’s List. He was awarded a full scholarship by the Crummer Business School at Rollins to pursue an MBA degree with concentrations on International Business and Finance. He came to United States through The Walt Disney World International Program, participating at Epcot as a Cultural Representative from China. Lu is fluent in English and Mandarin, and speaks some Cantonese. Lu also served as a journalist and consultant at Good Life Media and a researcher at the China Center at Rollins College. His areas of research include business development and economy in China, as well as politics in Asia.


 Michael  Marcous

Michael Marcous

Michael Marcous is an intern at the Global Perspectives Office. He is in his third year at the University of Central Florida and currently pursuing a B.A. in International Studies with an emphasis on the Middle East. Michael was recently awarded the Critical Language Scholarship to study Arabic at the Center for Maghrib Studies in Tunis, Tunisia. He has also studied the history of Islam at the University of Cambridge as a President's Scholar. Marcous is currently a Resident Assistant in the Towers at the Golden Knight's Plaza. His research interests include the war in Iraq and the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Tyler Cain
Intern

Tyler Cain is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. He is a senior at the University of Central Florida, pursuing a B.A. in Political Science: International Relations and Comparative Politics. His areas of research interest include development, international law, and economic trade. Tyler serves as the Secretary of the French Club at UCF and is an Honor’s in the Major student whose thesis focuses on Central Asian energy policy. After graduation he will pursue a law degree with a focus on international law. Tyler has traveled extensively throughout the Americas and speaks conversational French and some Spanish.

 Brooke  Feldman

Brooke Feldman
Intern

Brooke Feldman is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office; she researches Israeli/Palestinian Relations. Feldman's interests range from the impact of globalization on indigenous cultures to environmental degradation. She is completing her senior year Trinity Preparatory School. Upon graduatoin, Brooke plans to study anthropology and international relations in college. She has studied abroad in Israel and spent a summer teaching in a small Costa Rican village. Feldman, a native to Central Florida, speaks conversational Spanish.

 Mohenna  Sarkar

Mohenna Sarkar

Mohenna Sarkar is an intern in the Global Perspectives Office. She is a sophomore at Haverford College, majoring in Political Science and Environmental Science with a minor in East Asian Studies. She is an active member of Amnesty International and her college’s student government. Her research interests are in environmental sustainability and international political theory and after graduation she intends to further her education by attending law school. Born in India, Sarkar has also lived in the Middle East before moving to the United States. Along with her native languages of Bengali and Hindi, she is also conversational in Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.

 Briannie  Torres

Briannie Torres

Briannie Torres is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a graduate of UCF with a B.S. in Business Administration - Marketing. She is currently pursing a Master’s degree in Business Administration at UCF. Briannie has traveled throughout Eastern and Western Europe, Australia, the Caribbean, Central America, and the United States. She is co-owner of a student-based travel company that provides educational and missionary trips abroad for high school and college student. She was born in Puerto Rico and speaks fluent Spanish. Briannie has been studying French and Romanian for most of her college career.

Erin Williams is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at UCF, pursuing a B.A. in Political Science (American Politics and Policy track) with minors in Women’s Studies and Sociology. She is interested in the impact of globalization on women around the world. Erin is a consultant at the University Writing Center, a facilitator for the Young Women Leaders Mentor Program, and is currently researching college women’s civic engagement for her Honors in the Major thesis. After graduation, she will pursue an M.A. in Women’s and Gender studies. Erin was born in Canada and has traveled to Switzerland and France.


 Shelly  Yu

Shelly Yu

Shelly Yu is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is in her third year at the University of Central Florida pursuing a double major in Political Science (International Relations track) and Social Work. Her areas of interest include development theories, human rights and welfare systems. Her Honors in the Major Thesis explores the relationship between culture and development, with an emphasis on the African states of Tanzania, Burkina Faso, and Guinea Bissau. She is involved in the Alpha Phi Omega fraternity for community service. She speaks fluent Chinese and has been to Taiwan.

Gaston Blanchet
Intern

Gaston Blanchet is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office and Diplomacy Program.   Gaston is a Junior at UCF, pursuing a B.A. in Management.  During his senior year, he plans to pursue a yearlong International Business exchange program in France.Gaston is fluent in Spanish, conversational in German, and is currently learning Mandarin. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue an M.B.A in Shanghai, China. Gaston was born in Buenos Aires, and grew up in Vienna, Austria, before moving to the States.


 Paula  Ferreira

Paula Ferreira is an Intern for the Global Perspectives Office and Diplomacy Program. She is a senior at Rollins College pursuing a B.A. in International Affairs. Her areas of interest are Middle Eastern politics and culture.  She plans to travel to the Middle East in the near future. She is a native of Brazil with an Italian background and speaks Portuguese, Spanish, French and some Italian. She has traveled throughout Europe, the United States and Latin America. In addition, Paula has been a resident of Central Florida for 12 years and plans to continue on to Law school after her graduation.

Chelsea Smith is a high-school intern for the Global Perspectives Office and Diplomacy Program. She is a senior in the International Baccalaureate Program at Seminole High School and, upon graduation, plans to study international business. She has traveled throughout Europe and the United States. A Central Florida native, she speaks Spanish.


 Kelsey  Wohlman

Kelsey Wohlman

Kelsey Wohlman is an Intern for the Global Perspectives Department and Diplomacy Program.  She is a senior at UCF pursuing a B.A. in Political Science, International Studies with a dual minor in Middle Eastern Studies and Psychology.  International travel and culture are particular areas of interest to her.  After spending the last summer interning in Washington, D.C. with the U.S. State Department, she has decided to pursue a career with the Foreign Service after graduation in December.  She has lived throughout the United States, as well as in England, the United Arab Emirates and Indonesia.

Lori-Ann Barnett is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office and Diplomacy Program. She graduated from UCF in 2007, with a B.A. in Political Science (International Relations and Comparative Politics) and a minor in Latin American, Caribbean and Latino Studies. Barnett was previously an intern at the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs. She is pursuing a master’s in public administration, with an international emphasis, at UCF. Born in Jamaica, she speaks French and Spanish.


 William  Jarvis

William Jarvis
Global Connections Scholar

William Jarvis is a Global Connections Scholar for the Global Perspectives Office, the Diplomacy Program, the Terrorism Studies Program and the Global Connections Foundation. He was previously an intern. His studies focus on macro-history and philosophy, and he has traveled to Hungary and the Czech Republic. In 2007, Jarvis graduated from Rollins College with a degree in International Affairs. He has career interests in law, diplomacy and fiction-writing.

Kimberly Carl
Intern

Kimberly Carl is an Intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at UCF majoring in Political Science – International Studies with a minor in European Studies. She is a transfer student from the University of Florida where she was a research assistant in the European Union Studies Department and worked on a project entitled Economization and Democratization in Eastern Europe. She plans to obtain her masters degree at the University of Central Florida next fall.

Fernando Gonzalez is an Intern for the Global Perspectives Office. He is a junior at UCF majoring in Political Science-International Relations and Comparative Politics. He has traveled through out the Caribbean and the United States and plans on traveling through out the Middle East, which is an area of interest to him. Having been born in Puerto Rico he is fluent in Spanish and has lived the majority of his life in Central Florida. After graduating, he plans to attend law school with an emphasis in international law.

Lissette Lanza is an intern in the Global Perspectives Office. She is pursuing a major in Political Science-International Relations at the University of Central Florida and a minor in Economics. She is the current Secretary of the U.N. Association at UCF, and she is a sister of the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity. Lissette is from Peru, and live in Germany and Canada. She had traveled through South America, Europe, and Canada. She speaks Spanish, German, and basic French.

Evelyn Tonn is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office and the Diplomacy Program. She was a Lawrence J. Chastang Global Fellow in the Fall of 2006. She is a senior Political Science: International Relations Major in the Burnett Honors College. She is currently writing her Honors in the Major Thesis “Globalization vs. Localization: A comparative global analysis of the attitudes of University Students” She was a recipient of the 2006 David L. Boren National Security Education Program Scholarship to study Arabic at the University of Jordan and has studied abroad at Cambridge University.

Oksana Baker is an Intern for the Global Perspectives Office and the Diplomacy Program. She is a graduate of Rollins College, with a B. A. in International Affairs. She is a member of International Council of Central Florida and provides Russian language interpreting assistance. Born in Ukraine, she is fluent in Russian, Ukrainian, and speaks some German. She is an Anil Deshpande Award recipient. She traveled to Russia, Moldova, Poland, Check Republic, United Kingdom, and the U. A. E.

Samantha Freid is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office and the Diplomacy Program. She graduated from Lake Highland Prep in 2005. Samantha attended the University of Massachusetts/Amherst for the 2005-2006 school year. She is currently a sophomore at the University of Central Florida, and is pursuing a B.A. in Print Journalism.

His central focus is the Japanese language, culture, and politics. He has traveled to Japan, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, South Korea, the Caribbean, and Europe.

Timothy spent five years of his childhood in Japan, and has studied Arabic as well as Japanese at UCF.

Caceres has studied, traveled or lived in many parts of the Caribbean, Central America, Europe and the Middle East. She speaks Spanish and French.

Ghislaine Paalman is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office and the Diplomat in Residence Program. She has a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Central Florida, and is planning to undertake master s work in Applied Economics. She was born in Aruba, has lived in Holland and has traveled in many parts of the Americas. She speaks Papiamento, Dutch and Spanish.

David Torre is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office and the Diplomat in Residence Program. He is a senior at Rollins College, majoring in International Affairs. Originally from New York City, he has lived in Southwest and Central Florida since the age of 10. He is planning to study international law in the fall of 2005.

She was born in South Florida, has traveled to Japan and parts of Europe, and has studied abroad in Spain.
